Expenses
Mountain School tuition
for the 2008-'09 academic year is $20,195 per semester. In addition, students establish an incidental
account of $450 to cover the cost of books, entertainment, and
miscellaneous expenses. We require that our students be covered by
some type of health insurance: A half-year plan can be obtained
through Milton Academy, which also offers elective accident and
tuition-refund insurance.
Financial Aid
We continue to be
need-blind in our admissions decisions, and we encourage those who
are in need of aid to apply for financial assistance. To estimate a
family's ability to pay, the Mountain School relies on a system
developed by the School Financial Aid Services Committee, a standing
committee of the National Association of Independent Schools. Those
who need additional aid and those not receiving aid at their home
schools should request a financial aid packet by answering the
appropriate question on the application form. This packet must be
returned to the Mountain School by March 15th. The financial aid
grants are mailed in late April.
