Driving Directions

Please use the directions below to navigate to the Mountain School.

  • Find your way to I-91 and take this north to exit 14, Thetford. Turn left at the bottom of exit 14 onto route 113. Take 113 for about 15 miles to the town of Vershire. Less than a mile past the Vershire post office you will see a sign for The Mountain School pointing you to take a left onto Vershire Center Road. Climb the hill to a T-intersection and turn left. The Mountain School is on the left about one mile down the road.

  • Find your way to I-91 heading south. Take exit 14, Thetford, and turn right onto route 113. Take 113 for about 15 miles to the town of Vershire. Less than a mile past the Vershire post office you will see a sign for The Mountain School pointing you to take a left onto Vershire Center Road. Climb the hill to a T-intersection and turn left. The Mountain School is on the left about one mile down the road.

  • From Chelsea, VT, take Route 113 east and climb the hill toward Vershire. At the top of the hill, Ward’s Garage is on your right. Continue 1.7 more miles on Route 113, then turn right onto Brown Road. Go straight at the stop sign, and the Mountain School is on the left in less than a mile.

Ground Transportation

The Dartmouth Coach provides the most regular and cost-effective transportation to and from our region. The Mountain School provides students transportation to the main terminal of the Dartmouth Coach in Lebanon, NH, with service to Boston, MA and New York, NY in order for students to access major airports or return home during mid-semester breaks. Students should purchase their tickets on the Dartmouth Coach website and send their request to our Office Manager, Holly Shore, at holly.shore@mountainschool.org.

The Vermonter Amtrak line runs through White River Junction, with service to New York, NY. The Vermonter takes slightly longer than the Dartmouth Coach to reach New York and is slightly more expensive. Students wishing to use the Amtrak should purchase their tickets on the Amtrak website and send their request for transportation to the station to our Office Manager, Holly Shore, at holly.shore@mountainschool.org.
