How can I get to know TMS?

Getting to know our program, from our beautiful campus to our guiding values, is the best way to know if TMS will be a good fit for you.

You can get to know us in the following ways:

  1. Attend a virtual open house (or watch a recording after the fact)

  2. Attend a presentation at your school or local area

  3. Visit our campus

  4. Connect with our Director of Admissions, Enrollment & Financial Aid

  5. Talk with a Mountain School Alum

  • Our Virtual Open Houses are hosted twice per month to help you get a feel for the Mountain School no matter where in the world you live.

These live conversations alternate between presentations from a panel of faculty and students, and an Office Hours discussion with the Director of Admissions, Enrollment & Financial Aid.

Each Panel Presentation has a theme, to help you learn more about the various aspects of student life at the Mountain School. Panel sessions will be recorded and posted on the website after they occur. We suggest that you watch at least one panel presentation and review our website before attending an Office Hours meeting, so that you have a general sense for what we do here.

Office Hours are intended to answer specific questions you may have about our program that are not answered on the website.

  • All panel discussions happen at 8pm EST. Please click on the link to join!

October 4 Spring ‘24 Enrollment Office Hours

    December 20 General Office Hours

    January 18 General Office Hours

February 7 Office Hours for Application Support

February 12 Office Hours for Application Support

  • We are proud of the fact that TMS applicants come from as far east as France and South Africa and as far west as Hawaii!

We apologize that our schedule is very east-coast centric, because we try to have a variety of TMS faculty & current students available to join in presentations.

If you are not able to join a panel in person, panel recordings will be posted within one business day of each session and you can watch it at your convenience.

If none of the Office Hours days and times work for you, please email admissions@mountainschool.org to schedule a 1:1 appointment.

  • TMS visits 70-100 schools each year, depending on where we have been invited and the number of alumni volunteers we have.

The best way to find out if we already have a visit planned to your school is to email admissions@mountainschool.org or ask your dean of students/advisor.

We are always excited to build new relationships with partner schools! If we are not already visiting your school, we would be happy to connect with your administrators and plan a visit for the future.

  • If you would like to visit campus, we are able to provide tours on Wednesdays, Fridays and some Saturdays and Sundays August 21 through November 15 and February 7 through May 25, except Spring Break (March 16 - April 2).

A great way to come to campus is to arrive at noon for a 30 minute tour and then stay for lunch with our community, from 12:30-1. You are welcome to make a visit with another prospective student and their family.

Please contact admissions@mountainschool.org with your preferred day and time and we will do our best to set up a visit for you!

  • Hi! I’m Lucretia Witte, Director of Admissions, Enrollment and Financial Aid. I will be happy to answer any questions you have about our program.

I travel doing school visits October-January and work on campus February-June. The best way to reach me is by emailing admissions@mountainschool.org or texting my cell phone, (203) 690 4779. We can set up a time to talk on the phone or Google Meets at a time that works for you.

  • The best way for you to get to know our program is by hearing from a current or recent student! We do our best to share the perspectives of current students through our scheduled panels (see above), which are also recorded and posted on our website.

We are also happy to connect you with alums from your region or school. Please email admissions@mountainschool.org with your specific area of interest to discuss.
