Standardized Testing

Take Your SAT, ACT, or AP Exams Without Interrupting Your Mountain School Experience

At the Mountain School of Milton Academy, we make it possible for you to stay focused on learning, community, and the outdoors, all without missing important standardized testing dates during your time in Vermont.

Our testing coordinator helps students take the PSAT, ACT, SAT, and AP Exams while attending our semester school.

What Standardized Tests Can I Take at The Mountain School?

While many colleges and universities are now test-optional, taking the SAT or ACT can keep more college opportunities open to you.

Before arriving on campus, we recommend students discuss a testing plan with their families and school counselor.
Most students will:

  • Take the PSAT in the fall of 11th grade

  • Take their first SAT or ACT in the spring of 11th grade

  • Retake tests over the summer before 12th grade if desired

At The Mountain School:

  • We offer the PSAT on campus each fall

  • We host the ACT on campus each spring

  • We arrange transportation on a set date each semester for students wanting to take the SAT.  Please see the dates listed below.

Students are responsible for registering for the SAT or ACT directly through the College Board or ACT websites.

How the Mountain School Supports Student Testing

Our staff helps students prepare and plan for testing by:

  • Providing on-campus testing for the PSAT and ACT in the spring

  • Offering transportation to nearby SAT testing sites on set dates

  • Coordinating AP exam registration for both Mountain School and “AP Exam Only” students

  • Offering guidance from our Testing Coordinator and college counseling program

You’ll always know where and when to test—and get the help you need to register on time.

Please remember that you are responsible for registering any exam (other than the PSAT) you would like to take, and all College Board or ACT deadlines apply.
